River Falls is an upscale community of about five hundred homes situated on the southern edge of Montgomery County, Maryland, adjacent to the historic C & O Canal and the Potomac River. River Falls was carefully developed by the Clarence W. Gosnell Company over a period of forty years and features wide streets, a community clubhouse, new swimming facilities, six well-maintained tennis courts plus playing fields for baseball and soccer.
Life in River Falls is a vibrant and caring experience. Frequent comparisons are made between River Falls and the neighborhoods many remember from simpler times in the 1950's and 1960's. Important neighborhood events include our annual Fourth of July parade, attended by hundreds of families, and our Memorial Day picnic which marks the summer opening of the pool facilities. Our summer swim and tennis teams are joined each year by the great majority of River Falls' children and feature, in addition to friendly competition, continuous social events to fill the summer calendar. River Falls has an interesting and timeworn tradition of older children caring for and teaching the younger children about pride in neighborhood traditions. Swimming and tennis programs are under the guidance of full time professionals. Tennis teams for men and women are also available in the spring and fall tennis seasons.
River Falls has three strong community associations, the Civic Association of River Falls (CARF) that advises and represents the community on civic matters, the River Falls Home Owners Association (RFHOA) which manages common areas of the newest section of the neighborhood and the River Falls Community Center Association (RFCCA) which governs the neighborhood recreational facilities.
