| Swim Team MCSL Certified Volunteer Positions |
Description: REFEREE: Has full authority over all officials and the meet. Assigns officials to their positions and jurisdictions. Enforces all applicable rules and shall decide all questions relating to actual conduct of the meet. Prior Stroke & Turn experience required.
CHIEF JUDGE: A certified position that works with the Referee in covering the opposite end of the pool from the Referee with Stoke & Turn Judges. Should be a certified Referee to help in this position. This position is not used in all meets.
STARTER: Upon signal of the referee, the Starter shall announce for the swimmers to get ready for their heat and utilizing an electronic starter, signal the start of each heat. The starter is also responsible in conjunction with the referee to ensure no false start is permitted.
STROKE & TURN: Ensures that the rules relating to stroke, turn, kick and finish designated for the event are being observed. Will issue disqualifications to swimmers if the rules are not followed.
