Swim Team Timers and other volunteer positions
Description: HEAD TIMER: Provides over sight to a group of timers in their assigned lanes. Provides back up to timers who may not have activated their watches and also preps the timers for the start of each heat. They will also collect all the time cards for each heat and make sure they are complete and turn them over to the runners. Works with the Referee to make sure all timers are ready for the next heat.

TIMERS: Most important position on the deck, (and most social) your accuracy is depended upon by each swimmer. In groups of 3 you will activate your stop watch on the Starters signal and stop it upon the swimmers completion and touch of the wall at the end of each heat. You will record your time with your other three timers in your group, and circle the middle time. Turn cards into the Head Timer.

RIBBON WRITERS: The automation system will print out labels to affix to the back of pre-made ribbons. Each swimmer gets a ribbon for their effort in each event. The labels will be printed with the over all place the swimmer obtained, and you will affix the label to the correct color ribbon.

RUNNER; For each heat, the runner will pick up the time cards from the head timer, and disqualification cards from the Referee and submit to the computer operator area.
